Gaetano "Guy" Muoio

It is with great sadness we are sharing news of the passing of Guy Muoio, 85 of Mantoloking, New Jersey.  Guy served as NARI National President during 1989-1990 and was a respected leader and cherished friend of the remodeling industry.  He was a veteran, remodeling firm owner, volunteer, author, loving husband and father.

Guy was born in New York City, raised in Staten Island and graduated from City College of New York in 1952.  Along with his wife Mary, Mr. Muoio founded GUYMAR Construction Company in Livingston in 1975.  Along with the location of his business, Livingston was his home for 45 years until moving to Mantoloking in 2003.

Remodelers Play a Critical Role in Driving Energy Savings

Research clearly shows that U.S. homeowners want energy savings, but without help from professional remodelers, few projects would actually happen.

This is based on the January 2015 Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) Sentiment Tracking Study and from a recent survey conducted by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) of its members.

The HIRI study revealed that homeowners have “very high interest” in finding ways to save energy. Although this sentiment is strongly expressed in the HIRI study, National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) remodeling contractors report that they are the ones to initiate the discussion to get these important features included in remodeling projects.

Remodeling Continues Its Growth Driven by Pent-up Demand

Des Plaines, Ill., April 21, 2024 — The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) released its first-quarter 2015 Remodeling Business Pulse (RBP) data of current and future remodeling business conditions. NARI remodelers are finding a good environment for their services. The combination of homeowner desire for improvements in their homes and a more stable economy is turning into solid business conditions. 

Surveyed in March, NARI contractors found their current business conditions better than they were last year at this time. On a 1–9 scale, the average rating was 6.11 (above 5 indicates growth). While still positive, this was a drop from the reading gathered in December. (The change was not a statically significant difference.)
