In light of BWC transitioning to prospective billing, the 2016 CareWorksComp group rating enrollment deadline for the traditional discount group rating program is November 18, 2023 and the retro group rating enrollment deadline is January 22, 2016. It is important to apply early so that you have adequate time to evaluate your options.  If you have not already applied, we ask that you take a look at your potential premium savings through the Miami Valley NARI Workers’ Compensation Program that is administered by our partner, CareWorksComp. Our workers’ compensation program was created to help our members maximize their workers’ compensation premium savings and to provide them with quality claims management services.  Consider these points about our program:

A capacity crowd attended both Miami Valley NARI hosted sessions of the EPA’s required refresher course for the Renovation, Repair and Painting program centered upon lead safety for remodelers.   EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP Rule) requires that firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978 have their firm certified by the EPA (or an EPA authorized state), use certified renovators who are trained by EPA-approved training providers and follow lead-safe work practices.  Every five years, those certified must re-certify and attend a refresher course.

A small but interactive crowd was in attendance at the recent Bureau of Workman’s Compensation seminar held at the offices of Miami Valley NARI on March 12.  Erin Rosiello, the Regional Business Development Manager from the Cincinnati BWC office, spoke to the group about the current updates at the BWC and the move to Prospective Billing.   The BWC is moving in this direction because it is good business.  This has been a change that was 20 years in the making and finally a reality.
