July
8, 2010 (LAST
CALL...RSVP TODAY!) With
summer just beginning, fireplaces are the furthest
thing from most people's minds. However
those wanting to remodel or purchase items on sale
are thinking about them and the folks from
Hamilton Parker are going to help you be informed
about what products are out there and how to
determine which is best for each customer.
Please
join Lori Ring and Steve Watters of Hamilton
Parker as they will be discussing the different
options of fireplaces that are available,
including some that are "earth friendly" and the
values of each based on customer need, position in
the home, and installation potential. You will be
surprised what little we actually know about
fireplaces, their uses and their many
advantages.
The
breakfast will take place at the Ramada Plaza
North on Wagner Ford Road. Registration,
Networking and Breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. with
the program from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Registration fees are $10.00 for certified
professionals, $20.00 for non-certified members
and $30.00 for non-members. Register online at

Social
Media Moms Diced and Sliced
By
Jack Loechner
According
to the results of the 2010 Mom Social Influencer
segmentation study by BabyCenter, five unique
segments of social moms are broken down into two
categories, the Influencers, Field Experts,
Lifecasters and Pros, and the Influenced, labeled
in the report as Butterflies and the
Audience. The Influencers make up only 18%
of social moms, but they wield 78% of the
influence.
Tina Sharkey, Chairman and
Global President, BabyCenter says "Since 2006, the
number of moms using social media has skyrocketed
more than 500%... marketers (can) shift their

Website
Competition Drives Traffic
By Morgan
Zenner
Mark
Harari, writer for the Baltimore Building &
Construction section of the Examiner.com, wanted
to drive more traffic to his page. In order to do
that, he created a Web site competition centered
around local contractors, which required people to
visit his page to vote for their favorite
contractor site. As soon as Joe
Lucado, president of Rule4 Building Group, found
out about the 2010 Baltimore's Best Contractor Web
site competition, he was in. "We saw a tweet
announcing that they were accepting nominations so
we sent him an e-mail with a formal request to
submit our Web site's nomination," Lucado says.
